Well, I sold my Savage BMAG on the EE here.... I really like the .17WSM for gopher shooting, as it "BLOW'S em up real good"! So, tomorrow i'm off to the city to finish Christmas shopping, so i'll go by Cabela's and if they have a stainless heavy BMAG i'll pick one up as my Christmas gift to myself. I have a Mueller Eradicator 8.5-25x50 for it already, and to get ready for the next gopher season i'll order a Boyd's lightweight thumbhole in grey pepper laminate. Should look slick!

IF they have one, ill post some pics! And, IF the weather permits, I'll set it up Sunday and sight it in. See how it shoots!

Update to follow!

Ginnz!

----EDIT----

Back from the city. Well, they had what I wanted. I picked one up, and six box's of 25 gn, and six box's of the 20 gn .17WSM..... Got my Eradicator mounted, and tomorrow morning Ill head out and sight er in. Hope she groups good. I think I'll do a break in of it like I did the first one. Ill shoot a magazine, clean it, shoot another, clean it, ect....

here's a pic.

Well guys. I came back from sighting her in. Had her on paper right off the bat. 10 rounds later had it zero'd at 100y. This one seems to prefer the 20 gn over the 25 just by a hair... its good for 1" at yards with the 20 gn, which is totally acceptable to me! The gophers will be exploding next summer! I think ill take it out coyote hunting next week... see what she does on them!

All in all, stainless BMAG is a step in the right direction over the regular one. The stock is still a cheap, hollow piece of crap, and the bolt... well, the #### on close of the bolt is a little to get used to. My first sight in wasnt in the best conditions, as it was very windy, and I used the hood of my truck to shoot off of. So it was less than ideal. But it shot good..... better than my first one. ;-)

Now im gonna order a boyds lightweight thumbhole stock in pepper laminate. that'll class it right up!

Good thing that the Bmag has good range, since there's no gophers in Man, you'll be able to pick off a few here in SK. from where you are. LOL of course.

Unfortunately I don't have access to areas that would accommodate such a group. My shooting is done in small pastures with buildings in close proximity. Also only use only .22 to keep the noise level down. The landowners are receptive to the .22 and don't raise an eyebrow because they are familiar with the round. The annual shoot in the Swift Current area sounds like it would fill the bill for you.
