I'm waiting for Hungry to join this thread. I believe he's been parkerizing quite a bit the last couple of years. I'm sure he has some "welfare" ideas on this topic
I work in a paper mill and we've got stainless pipe in the garbage all the time. I don't know where you live, but if it happens to be in alberta I would be happy to build you one in trade for a little bit of parkerizing.
Was at Princess Auto over the holidays and noticed in a flyer that they have a stainless tank that would be perfect for parkerizing non-barrelled actions and smaller parts, believe it was 6x7x12" or something close to that.
Tank is 6 x 6 x 40. Cost 80 bucks at a steel shop.
The frame is made from 1" channel and angle iron that we had kicking around. It's anchored to the floor and the end of the work bench.
My partner in crime works at a furniture store, so the supply of surplus stove elements, switches and cords is near limitless.
Wired it into the wifes dryer circuit. She can't do laundry when we use the tank. And it doesn't piss her off either...
About 40 bucks in misc electrical stuff, wire, boxes, etc
The Rickards don't count as I would of drank it anyway.
