Okay so i was watching bad boys and saw a Stainless Rem 870, wondering if anyone has/seen/knows where I can get one from.

are there people/shops that will hard chrome firearms?...i always see gunsmiths doing blueing and matte finished, but never chrome and nickle plating?

Norinco HP9 on top with stainless Remington barrel and extension. Likely send off the receiver in the winter to have it Armacoated in their stainless finish.

seems the closest is the 590 mariner.. its supposedly the one used in hard target, always looked really shiney to me in the movie but i guess its a matte finish

Yes, hard chrome used to be a fairly popular custom finish. The frame of the custom 1911 in my avatar is hard chromed.

Roger Kotanko of RK Custom Guns is the only gunsmith I know of in Canada that offers hard chrome plating.

I picked up an 870 Marine Magnum from Lebaron. Paid just under $700 for it. It has a nice durable matte finish. Very easy to maintain. I highly recommend one.

12 gauge, 3 inch
Cylinder choke
18 inch barrel
6 round magazine

Electroless nickel plating on all metal surfaces, including the inside of the barrel and receiver.

Weren't the older 870 marines actual stainless?? I swear I was watching a television show about Canadian Park Rangers well above the tree line that were guiding some hippies around the tundra for some kumbaya BS. A polar bear took an interest in them and was stocking them at a distance. The Park Ranger who was a woman had what looked like an 870 marine extended mag with wood furniture that was stainless. She said the Government issued those to them (Rangers) and that IF it comes down to it, 1 or 2 slugs will take care of the bear.
It didn't come down to it. They left the area by canoe and lost the bear.

I used to carry an early version of the "Marine Magnum" while performing scientific research in Churchill, MB, and it indeed had a mirror-like finish. I used to comb my hair in the reflection. A nice finish, though I do prefer the matte finish for practical reasons.

I've seen an aftermarket 870 barrel that was actually stainless steel, not plated, being offered online years ago, but have never seen a complete stainless shotgun.
