Stainless Steel Tumblers in Canada - CTS

I want to start by saying that I don't work for this company, i just wanted to let everyone know about it in case they're looking to get into stainless steel tumbling.

I've been using a Hornady Sonic 2l cleaner to clean my brass for about 6 months now, however I wasn't satisfied with the cleaning results i was getting.
The cases were clean, but not like they'd advertised, I still had to dig crap out of the primer pockets. So I decided that i was going to switch to Stainless Steel wet tumbling.

The 12lb model I was looking for wasn't in stock but the owner managed to re-stock and send out my tumber in the same week. If anyone is looking at getting in to Stainless Steel tumbling and needs a tumber, it seems like we've got a domestic source.

I have heard some people mention that using stainless steel media and tumbling isnt good for brass used for long distance target shooting because of how it beats up the case mouth - any comments or experience

There can be some peening of the case mouths. This is reduced if you run the tumbler fairly full of water.

Thanks for the information - I also have an ultra sonic cleaner but was a bit leery of using my newly acquired tumbler with stainless pins because Im using lapua match grade brass and really didnt want to screw them up.

i built my tumbler, i ran my first batch through the other night, i cant tell you how impressed i am with the job that stainless steel media worked for me, it cleaned the outside, the inside, and the primer pockets, i couldnt ask for a better tumbler

Wouldnt even look at a vibrating tumbler, and i dont think id ever stray away from stainless,

The 1mm porcelain beads do a very nice job too but they do require frequent dislodging from the primer pockets

My first experience with STM is underway. Just put my 135 223's in with the media, water, soap and lemi-shine. Can't wait to see how it turns out!

and honestly, it's actually quieter than the supersonic cleaner. That high pitch buzzing really bugged me after a while.

Can't wait to pull out my cases!!

Looking on their site, do the have the SS Pins?? Cant find them.

I should have mentioned, just the tumblers. Media is a different story. You'll still have to go through Sinclair or someone on the forums here to get the pins.

Don't run ceramic cylinders if you're cleaning anything but straight sided brass (pistol). The ceramic cylinders jamb up inside necked cases and is a Royal PITA.

iduncant: Just want you to note that you should not use too much lemi-shine. a 9mm case(1/4 teaspoon) of lemi per gallon of water is all you need. It is just there to add the shine, not clean the brass.

If you're referring to the ceramic cylinder tumbling media, dinging , isn't the problem. It goes inside necked brass and jambs up tight.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm only shooting .270, 223 and 308, so all bottlenecks. I'll just stick with Stainless for now.

my god...

I'll have to get pictures up later... but wow. I am very glad i invested in this set-up. The brass looks better than new.

As a plus it deburred for me after i trimmed them.
