Standard vs. Open

Well the Stinger is shooter then what they call a shorty...my Bedell's are shorty and as you have seen are not that short....they generaly refer to 4.5" barrel, and pretty much a regular modern 5-7 ish chambers....I did find the Stinger rough at the beginning but now I'm pretty well used to it I can get through 700 rds in practice before I start to feel tired :) with my new pistol there is no end to a practice session :) :) ....I do shoot better scores with the new one...not sure why....perhaps the feel or recoil ect...

My wife also shot one of the Open gun I got and she was having a lots of difficulties with a Edge 40.....of course she didn't want to have anything to do with Open because of the noise...blast ect... until she tried my Stinger....which she didn't want to give back for the whole practice session....now she's shooting a Bedell and she seem to like IPSC a lot more...
 
Well I've never worried much about recoil. :D I did my BB with a 10mm.

But I know first hand that women with small hands and a high level of recoil sensitivity are probalby not going to like a 9mm glock unless its loaded with light loads.

My mother, who has very small hands a weak grip, carpal tunnel syndrome and is recoil sensitive prefers to shoot a Para 16-40 with light recoil spring and buffer than a 9mm in anything. Its not just the recoil but how the gun behaves.

I hate the way the GLock frame resonates with each shot especially with the snappier 9mm as opposed to the 40.
 
My 13 year old 110 lb son will take my STI open gun over my Edge or 9mm CZ every time,he finds it muchh easier to shoot,I just wish I could try it some time!And yes he is shooting major loads in IPSC.
 
Eh class: You did try that Open gun and it didn't improve your shooting......seriously leave the kid alone with HIS open gun :) :) :)

Going to the next match?? you miss the drooling that Freedoms provided at the last match ;)
