I'm surprised Mark's didn't have them. Every one I've been to in BC has had them in stock, even up north.
 
Never seen one before, and I'm a maritimer. You'd think they'd be everywhere on the boats here, but never seen one fishing or hunting.

I always wear a wool surplus commando sweater when I'm hunting or when I'm out at sea.

This thread made me laugh because I realized I have never seen anyone outside of BC with one on.

No joke, I can spot people from BC by their clothing, hair and just the way they walk. A woman just moved in across the street. Crazy BC hair. Looked at the plates on her car, yep BC.

Can you guys spot an Albertan? What do we look like, #######s??

Albertans are reeeeeeeal easy to spot on the highway.
They tend to gather like sheep.
One beside the phucking other.
You're not running tractors along the fence b.s.ing with one another.
Giddee up and go or move over and stay behind.
But just do........for cripes sakes.
And those speed signs on the corners mean speed up, not slow the heck down.

BC = to many corners!

Have to slow down and stick together because we are scared of all those wool sweater, crazy hair, corner burners.

If I,m not wearing a Stanfield sweater-shirt , I wearing one of these wool commando sweaters , and have for years !! --- love them both !! ~~~~ :) PS ---- Also have a Kenora Dinner Jacket , that I bought at Woodwards, New West; years ago and its Still going Strong , and its seen a Lot of Bush !!

Thanks so much for this thread! I used to have one of the Stanfield's sweater-shirts that I inherited from my grand-pa. I loved it, but somehow it got thrown out with a bunch of old clothes and I have always wished I still had it. I thought they didn't make them any more and now I am very glad to know I can buy a new one (and I am in BC, so I should be able to find one)!
 
I wish I could find a photo of the Stanfield's that the 17 Mile Pub - half way out to Sooke - sells with it's logo embroidered on it. Some call their least-dirty sweaters their "Going to Town" Stanfield's.
 
Dang it yu-all.
Now I gotta go buy one and live up to this BC truhdition.
Then I can feel real good 'bout corraling dem der alabertians back
into the proper lane............ :D
 
I'm in Ontario, and wear one all the time in late fall, winter. Started wearing them in the early 70'
s working in a logging camp up on the Nass River, and never stopped. A few of my co-workers have taken to wearing them also.
A few stores here in Sudbury carry them.
 
I used to wear one all the time when hunting or working in the outdoors. Eventually it got so tattered it went to the trash. I just ordered two more, thanks for the reminder :)
