In the course of my horse trading, I came across a rather non descript looking British shotgun. When I took the locks out to clean them, they turned out to be high quality Stanton locks and I am posting a photo of one here to show the quality that could be achieved in the good old days. The gun is a cartridge gun from somewhere in the 1880s or 90s the locks are rebounding locks meaning that the hammer bounces back to 1/2 #### after firing so that you don't drag the pins across the extractor. Also the sear pivots on a captive pin rather than on a bridle screw, and that means there is potentially no pressure from the bridle on the sear
