I have a Star model F, and I bought it for one reason. My daughters did not like the "heavy" weight of my Ruger Mk II 5.5 inch bull barrel.
I got this for my girls & my nephew to shoot at the pistol range under supervision.
They had alot of fun with it, and they did not care that I set up thier targets at 10 yards. For accuracy it does not even come close to the Ruger. But first-time young shooters really like this Spanish Star. I found this pistol prefered high velocity ammunition to function 100% of the time. Spare magazines are hardly found & spare parts are even scarcer. The asking price is about right, and only a bit over what I paid out for mine. So it's not out to lunch pricewise, IMHO. (for a gun in very good to excellent condition!) But don't expect match winning accuracy, especially with the 4.25 inch barrel, it's purely a recreational shooter.

I have a Star F. It's a POS. At 20yds I (it) can sometimes hit a 8"x10" piece of paper. I only reason I have it is because the previous owner did not upgrade his FAC to RPAL and was going to turn it in to the police.

For $299 look around for a Ruger MkII

Star Model F

I use a Star model F and find it is quite accurate. This one is the Target model with a 7 inch barrel. All of my Stars shoot very well . Rigrat
