As a WW2 collector i have my eye on a Star model B. before pulling the trigger I'd like to hear what the word is on these. I have read that they are all practically refurbed Russian captures and as a result each is a very mixed bag of parts, resulting in performance issues. True?

I had a B Modulo Super about 20years ago, tuned and tightened it for ISSF centre fire. Worked well and I wish I hadn't sold it. Probably the best of the Spanish 1911clones, but metric sized so nothing from the real 1911world will fit.

If you can get one in nice shape they make excellent 'single stack' 9mm shooters.

I've had a couple of the later post war Model B's. One shot circles around a Colt 1911A1 Govt in 9mm I also had at the time.

Sorry I sold it [the Model B not the Colt...lol...]

Still have a Star pistol now, but it's the Model BM, which is a compact Model B. It's a great shooter, also.
