I first heard stories about these pistols in service in the Rhodesian Bush war. This was unfortunately a ghastly & sad story about a former physician in the Rhodesian Army who had become severely mentally ill possibly as a result of his war hardships. This man had immigrated to Canada from what I recall. An interview with him on a period Canadian investigative journalism program revealed that this one particular Star Model B was used for issuing field: "coup de gras". I won't go into the details but the details were quite horrible even just to hear someone who was there describing it from memory.

I like the very first model depicted, it has a look similar to the Polish VIS pistol - very classy.

The first Star model B:

The picture of the Star Model B pistols in what is supposedly a Russian storage crate is quite interesting to see. I wonder what conflicts these Soviet - Star model B pistols have wound up in over the decades since WWII?

Interesting that Star B was also used by Germany in WW2 however was not proofmarked. So the only way to check if it's Nazi Star B is serial number. Star B with nazi markings are fakes that came from Bulgaria.
