Star Model B Super in 9mm Parabellum for $299,..are they worth it ?? How accurate , good bad, excellent ?
Trigger- is it like any other military pistol, better or worse ?
Feeding or extraction issues ?
I am very interested at this price. I'll bet no other parts interchange.
Would you buy another ?
Happy with yours ?
I know there is better out there, but I wouldn't mind giving this old milsurp a chance as long as Ive got something to work with.
Comparable to the Tokerav ?
Chime in if you have owned one, or similar. Thank you very much.

I've had a couple Star Model B's in the past. Good shooters. Very accurate. All round I like 'm. Still have a Model BM which is the compact [prohib] version.

On the downside, they are not a direct copy or clone of the 1911 so parts don't interchange. This includes the magazines.

For me, for a few bucks more, I'll stick with 1911's in 9mm.

Ive had 2 over the years and for the price that they are going for are a good deal. They arent great if you want to put a lot of rounds down range however as the metal tends to be quite soft.My first Star that I bought in 1976 lasted about 1500 rounds before the slide cracked, and before that it broke its takedown lever and slide stop.I bought another one a few years ago and this was a nice shooter in great shape, was pretty reliable and not bad for accuracy.I sold it as I never got to shoot it much and preferred shooting my other 9s,but was perfectly happy with it.

As mentioned above, parts are a problem if you break anything and magazines are hard to find.So all in all,if you want a nice classic old gun that you dont intend shooting much then they are fine, but if you want a gun that will put 1000s of rounds down range then there are better choices

Thanks guys. I have had a couple 9mm norks,..was looking to get something new and a little different.
I was disappointed with the 9mm norks accuracy, it wasn't even close to my 45 nork...how was yours ??

The star super b i had was very accurate but i had extraction problems. nice solid gun otherwise, and i have another one on exchange for the bad one so we shall see. the super b has more "improvements" over the straight b. most are kind of useless and irritating like the loaded chamber indicator and the really annoying magazine safety. mags of course are hard to find.

Mine hates steel and aluminium cased ammo (extraction failures) but works very well with brass cased handloads and factory cartridges. I really like mine.

Well, I bought a Star model B super. Nice fit & finish, nice trigger no jams or stove pipes. POA is right on. This is a good gun. Glad I bought it.

^ Ditto, I freakin love mine and it's way more accurate than I though it would be (tight sight picture). I've only shot a few mags so far but it was worth the $$$ from Wiemajack (sp).

Friend has one. Shoots well. Perfectly respectable 9mm service pistol.
Issues could be parts availability and extra magazines.

Magazines are available from K-Mags in South Africa at about $50 apiece. Delivery took about 3 weeks for my order.

I thought that using brass cased ammo cured my pistol's extraction problems, but I had several FTE's recently. After some Googling I replaced the extractor spring with a CZ75 extra power extractor spring, and it has now gone through 200 rounds without any problems.
