I bought 2 Star Model B Super pistols from frontier fire arms a month ago. I was not really impressed with the norinco NP29, so I was looking for something "different". They showed me the star and I was impressed with the over all fit and finish. Nice trigger, smooth slide ECT. I had them at the range today. Both shot the same. No difference. Point of aim was right on. That's good. I set my steel targets up at 25 yards "8x8 inches" and had no problem hitting them shot for shot. I even took a few shots at the swingers at 50 yards. Didn't hit them with every shot,..but enough to make me smile inside. No fail to fire, no ejection problems....nothing. For $305 bucks, this is one of my better deals. The recoil is mild "heavy gun for its size".Fits in the hand really nice. Its like a 3/4 size 1911. I wished I would have bought one sooner. Not a bad thing to say about it. I like it way more than my Tokarev, and way more accurate. It kinda feels like a browning.
I tried 4 different types of ammo, and it all worked. That's it folks.
Update- Me and my buddy picked up 2 more star Model b hand guns from the Local gun store. Each had the same problem- when you let the slide go forward,...the gun would FIRE ! His did it, & mine did it. We tried the slide release, & we let it go forward manually, and still got the occasional Boom. Not sure what causes this, but BEWARE if you happen to be the unlucky guy who gets one of these stinging B's , your in for a heck of a surprise & maybe a Fatal one.! Always point that darn barrel down range when charging these particular guns. I will never have another one in my home,..and if some one has one at the Range, I'm leaving.
