I'd like to mount a red dot on my Star Model B super. ((Old eyes just can't shoot open sights anymore))
The new mounts that fit into the rear sight dovetail look like a good option, but they seem to be made mostly for Glocks, Sigs, etc.
I had a look at Dueck, Burris, Aimpoint - I'm sure there are others.
Has anyone figured out which of these mounts will work on the Star? The top of the Star slide seems very round compared to the modern pistols - and I'm not sure what will match the size of the dovetail.???

Any other suggestions for mounting a red dot also welcome.
Thanks

That's like having a motorcycle with ashtray...

I was just looking at one of these, I am getting back a 1911 colt grip mount from I fellow that does not use it am more and see if
one of these would work, look like crap, but we are not talking about Kimber or Ed Brown.
If it works , will post. I think the grip screw spacing is different.
I don't have, but if someone had a good stock of weaver bases, there is likely something that would sit on top of a Star slide, and than my crap N.Star green dot.
I will try to measure what the radias is on the top of slide.
Too many ideas, too little time ( Wife and her todo damn list)
BTW, these guns are the best deal going, stock is getting low on them. All steel 9mm @300.oo

The top of the Star slide should be the same as a 1911 ( I think ).
If so, if you had the rear dovetail cut to be the same size as a 1911
then you should be able to mount a 1911 dovetail red dot mount.

I have one and if you PM me I can send you the dimensions.

Thanks all.
I don't think the grip mount will work because the disassembly lever is on the right side of the star so would interfere with the mount. But it would be a good option if it will - thanks for checking, marshall
The curvature on the star is almost a perfect match to a tooney - figured this was the easiest way to describe it.
The rear sight dovetail is 0.58" across the slide. It is 0.34" wide at the base and 0.27" wide at the top. Hope that makes sense.
colinjw - I'll send you a PM - thanks.
