Just got into box 'o guns #2 to sell from the FIL. He has a cool little .22 pistol, marked STAR and from what my Google-fu has told me it's a model F, third varient....but after that I come up empty. Anybody know of some sites I could go to and dig up a $ value? Or does anyone here know much about them?

Thanks all!

Got one just like it. I beleive these are actually the FR variant.
For more information go to Gunboards.com, Spanish pistol Forum.
Spare mags hard to find, but not too long ago Numrich Arms, or is it now e-gunparts.com, had spare wooden grips for sale.
Quick firing little pistol, although I only have had it to the range twice.
Nice little gun, all the controls just like a 1911. Also the empty magazines are the easiest by far to refill, unlike the Ruger Mk2 of mine. IMHO $250-$275ish, maximum....
All ordnance steel in these little gems, no crappy alloys, or cheesy stamped parts.
PS I think the smallest they made these pistols are 4.25 inch, therefore they are all only restricted classification. Mine has a straighter profile on the backstrap though I think, ditto what Rudy says on the sites.

I paid $125 for mine a couple of years ago. Mine is the Star F Sport and has a longer barrel (152 mm) and is restricted rather than prohibited.

Not a bad little gun. It had it's origins in 1928 with the model FTB. The F with fixed sights came about in the 1940's. A fun little cheap plinker. The arched back is a little over done. It would feel better if it were a little lower (closer to the original straight back).

It does not hold open the slide on the last round. Also the adjustable sights a kind of hokey but your gun above does not seem to have adjustable sights.

Wrong Way, I see a new handgun in your future!

And I know for a fact my FR model, just like the one pictured, does lock back the slide when the mag is empty...strange that the F model, does not do so.
Edit: Arch on backstrap the same, just the grips hid it. You made me look...and on mine the model is stamped behind the magazine on the bottom of the handgrip.
