Star model "F" .22??

I'm hoping somone here has experiance with these guns. I know that star made a 1911 copy and stuff, but has any one seen or used one of their 22s? I'm hoping for some opinions and such. it seems like a solid little gun, but what do I know:redface:
please feel free to respond.
(any thoughts on a price of a used one??)

i've got a star model "f-sport". bought it 10 years ago off a buddys dad for $50. nice gun ,,,very well made. very accurate. thought i would never use it but it is the favorite gun of my 9yr old daughter.(just started shooting) fits her hand alot better than mine. i would guess they are about $150-200 in todays market.nice gun but it is no ruger mark 2.

I have a Star model F with the 106mm barrel. I saved it from being turned in to the local PD by a relative who no longer wanted it, so it only cost me the $25 registration fee. It's a POS. It won't hit paper at 20m, at least not in my own lane, I'm sure it's hitting somethnig. But hey - the price was right, and I'll probably never sell it 'cause selling guns just ain't right. :D

you don't make it easy on a guy. I've done alittle more research on these guns. the genral feeling I got was they were well-built spanish made guns. finding parts might become a problem though...
anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I have a Star F ~ 5" barrel. Cute little gun. Palm swell is a little more than it should be. Does not have a hold open catch. Cheesy front sight adjustment (elevation). When I bought mine I didn't notice that the front sight was a penny someone cut to size. To adjust you loosen the screw and rotate the partial disc up or down in a slot. Trigger is not bad.

I never shot this gun real well but then I have a S&W 41, Highstandard for more serious .22 shooting (and a couple of Rugers to lend others to shoot. One on long term loan.)
