Star model FM .22lr help

Hey just wandering if anyone knows any more information about these pistols than me. I picked one up that was at the local gun shop on consignment cause I thought it was interesting and the price was right. Haven't been able to find much information on it though, like when it was made, how many were made, and the value. Just curious really, don't want to sell it, just like knowing what I got.

There were 8799 Star FM manufactured between 1972 and 1986. If you want the year I will need to know the the first 5 or 6 first numbers of the serial number regards Trav

Oh wow, that's awesome!
That's really cool there are so few of them made. Makes me wandering how many are still in existence. It's a really good shooter, I put 100 rnds of CCI through it without a hiccup. Any idea what I might be worth if you were to guess? Thanks alot Trav I appreciate the info.
