Anyone notice their primer pockets not being deep enough? I just loaded up 50 x 10mm rounds and all the primers are sitting out a couple thousands of an inch?! Same CCI large pistol I just put in 150 random cases that all fit flush. Am I the only one with this issue?

Are you seating CCI lr primers into 10 MM brass? If so yes they will sit proud of the case head! If you wanted to use LR ( and I cannot think why ) you would have to cut / ream the pockets deep[er.

I use a lyman primmer pocket uniformer prior to inserting the primmers. So i haven't had any issues. Some of the cases do seem to have quite a bit of material removed in the primmer pocket though.

I would look into a Sinclair primer pocket uniformer for Large pistol (or the set for any other pocket types you want to do) I have the Lyman but it has a depth collar that came loose. The Sinlcair is one piece.

Well it's not a tool for sizing per se, but people usually use it for prep on match loads on new brass. That said it may be easier to use this tool on your brass then try to get warranty brass from Starline in the USA.

Yeah thats true, I'll have to source different brass for future work. Won't be buying starline if it's like this....

What about these 50 rounds with the primers sticking out a bit? Run em in my 1911 or pull em?

Is there a chance of slam fires with up to 0.010" of primer sticking out? Don't want to ruin my gun!!

Anyone selling a bullet puller?

i've fired plenty with the primer not seated in properly. what usually happens is i need to fire it twice. the first hit pushing in the primer properly, then the second will fire it.

the anvil has nothing to rest against so it won't pinch the primer compound causing it to go off.

i've never heard of a 1911 slam fire, and even if it did, it would just scare the #### out of you.

Shouldn't need to fire twice, primers are seated all the way! Just the pockets are shallow.Ill try one and see whats up..

Yep, .014" more shallow than the Hornadys I have. Tried to shoot some of these and it didn't go well, they shot fine but didn't feed worth a ####. No more starline brass for me man, not for the 10mm anyway.

Was going through a few things, figured out the problem. My primer seater piece on my dillon 650 must have worked its way out a bit not allowing me to seat fully. Noticed it a while ago when I was switching from large to small on the press. Touched them up with my single stage. Life is good.

Just a coincidence that it was the 50 star line I loaded that had em.
