What are you guys running in your 6.5 Creedmoor's?

I got a Stag 10 coming and im chambering it in 6.5.

Are you finding much of a difference between the Starline SRP with the standard flash hole, or the Lapua with the smaller flash hole?

Cant go wrong with either or?

I would never use costly Lapua brass in a rifle that throws perfectly good brass away and then makes you go look for it.

These same cases will end up with chewed up rims and dented cases, if you can find them.

At the range my cases bounce off concrete shooting benches and land on a concrete walk and then roll into the dirt.

There is nothing better than a bolt action rifle and ejecting the just fired case into your hand and watching the skin burn and blister.

But then I'm a cheap bastard and buy once fired Lake City brass and then sort and prep the cases for a fraction of the cost. (and I have water cooled gloves) ;)

OP ask about flash hole size.

"Are you finding much of a difference between the Starline SRP with the standard flash hole, or the Lapua with the smaller flash hole?"

Different issue than primer size.

A smaller flash hole translates to a smaller SD.

So , I may have misunderstood.

So,even though both cases have a small primer pocket.
The lapua cases have a smaller flashole?
I didn’t think you could get diff size flash holes.

Good to know though as I have the same build as OP.
And I’m looking to squeeze as much accuracy as possible.

dented case mouths are easy to fix, i have never really noticed much damage to my hornady match brass in my BCL102 other than case head swipes due to timing issues. rest of the case looks perfect.

Yeah, the Lapua brass has the small rifle primer pocket, but they also made the flash hole smaller and most standard decapping dies wont go through it.

How level is a Lapua case going to sit in the case holder with case head swipes and chewed up rims?

Meaning how accurate is the case going to be with a tilted out of square base.

Bottom line I would use cheaper brass until I found out how the rifle was going to treat the cases, before buying any costly high grade cases.

I don't want to rain on your parade but using Lupua brass in a AR-type rifle is like using premium gas in a car designed for unleaded.

I had to buy Redding dies to deal with that smaller flash hole in Lapua brass. Most people just sand down whatever pin they’re using and that works fine. Turns out I really like these dies though, so it’s no big deal.

since i have an adjustable gas block, i would start by running the rifle as a single shot and gradually open it up until it cycles with the load i desire.

I've been loading Starline large rifle pocket 6.5CM and so far, so good. Not as consistent as Lapua, but doesn't seem to matter much on the target

I'm doing my homework on what's involved, what equipment I need, and what components I'll want, to start reloading 6.5CM myself, so this thread comes at the perfect time.
I've inherited a Rock Chucker Supreme press, but I will need everything else.
I have so many questions that widdle down one at time through research here and on other sites.
