Starline vs PPU Brass

I had very good results with PPU range brass easily loaded them 3-4 times
Yeah, me too. I have been using PPU brass for my Carcano's in 6.5x52mm and in my 7.62x39mm bolt action reloads and typically get as many as 6 or 7 reloads from the cases before the primer pockets get too loose.

I found them much better than recent Winchester and Remington brass.

I would gladly pay double the scrap brass metal value for anybody's once fired PPU cases they don't want.

Haven't used PPU, Starline seems to be OK so far, haven't done a pile of shooting with it, only have it for 223, only 2 shots so far on the 100 of the 200 I have, no issues, sized good, didn't stretch a crazy amount on the first shot. Bought it to use on gophers and a bit of range plinking with an 1885Win. I also use Rem brass in that gun, that I'd bought 35 yrs ago, it has 11 or 12 shots on 200pcs, was never annealed, upper end loads, but, not max.

I use a lot of Starline brass in pistols and believe it lasts as long as any other brass. Haven’t used it in rifles so haven’t a clue how good it is.
PPU I have a few pistol brass which work well. In rifles I have a lot of PPU and find it better than many. Out lasts Federal and Hornady. PPU also seems easier to find in some of the oddball calibers I shoot.

PPU makes accurate 222REM ammo for me when shooting Prairie Dogs. lt kills humanely out to 300yds/meters with their 50gr SP factory loads @3200FPS. The once fired brass reloads pretty well also as long as the load stays within the reloading manual specs.

Starline is great brass in straight wall pistol cases for 44 and 41 magnum loads. l shoot IHMSA BIG BORE with a revolver. Most of my fellow shooters use Starline in their BIG BORE revolvers

I have reloaded a lot of PPU brass in both 6.5 x 55 and 9.3 x 62. No issues, and it seems quite long lived.

I just finished my first testing of 243win starline brass vs ppu.
38.5gr varget, 85gr speer btsp, cci br
Both chrono around 3200ft/sec.
No issues with the starline rounds.
Sticky ejection from the ppu.
I def noticed the ppu brass to be VERY soft when full length sizing. Virtually no resistance in the press.
I pulled the remaining bullets and will come down to 38gr. I'm curious to see if the ppu brass hardens up after a few rounds fired and can handle the 38.5gr again.
Fun stuff

Some PPU I've bought wore out fast, wouldn't hold a primer after 3 loads, others have been fine, doesn't seem to have any reason, some low pressure cartridges wore out faster then some high pressure cartridges. No real consistent pattern I've been able to nail down.
It's cheap at least.

Hopefully we get more of it I need more .303 brass don’t want to wear out the last of my mk7 z brass.

Thanks to all who have responded to my question. It appears that Starline is "slightly" favoured whereas, PPU had some minute' issues. The main reason I asked is because, I'm in the infancy of having a 25-06 Remington custom built. Remington, Winchester, Hornady brass are either to soft or irregular. I shoot only Nosler bullets however, their brass is to soft and well overpriced.
No, I will not neck-down any-other case. It appears, so far, that I will purchase Starline.
Thanks again!

Track. What brand 25-06 brass do you prefer? l have unfired WW and R-P nickel. l don't know how to send it legally tho.

I wish that Lapua or Petterson made it in the 25-06. Thanks sw282, you could not give me your brass, not interested, I'll go with Starline.
