Start the Rumour Mill -K98s and P38s

There are some post war German police issue P38s around, Dante Inc has them for $447.77 includeing two mags and holster. Not bad but not WW2 surplus either. bearhunter

I think he means to say SIR is importing them from Century, either their stockpiles in Ukraine (good cuz they won't be import marked) or from the USA (bad b/c they will be import marked leftovers).

Either way, they will be WW2 era Russian Capture if Century is the importer as I know that's what they have.

JP, I expect to get good stuff. SIR... well... can you say "hit or miss"?

Also, it seems they are NOT WW2 P38's, but rather the post-war P1's.

Yes, but you are in the peg and likely picked it yourself. SIR can't/won't handpick. It's luck of the draw.

For the same price, P&S will send you pictures and a detailed description of the actual rifle to help you decide ;)

JP has had them listed for a while (atleast as far back as when I bought my Bayonet off him :D). Perhaps thats why he put "......." because people havnt bothered to look around for them ??

??? I don't see any
because people haven't bothered to look around for them ??
???

JP had a one liner on his website that new RC's were available about a week ago for the first time. the individual listings of each rifle have only been up for a coupla days though.

In fairness, JP's site doesn't get the traffic that some of the larger dealers get. But I like that ;) Means I have a chance at the rifles before they disappear!

Claven,

My memory is lacking so I probably remembered wrong,

I can learn something, do it just as good as the day I learnt how to years down the road but I would be confused to where I learnt it and who I learnt it from. :runaway:

P38 / K98 in SIR flier

My A+E Investigative Reports skills have informed me SIR is expecting a shipment of K98s and P38s. No details on arrival, from where, price etc, so don't ask me. I would bet from Russia with love anyways.

I just pulled the new SIR flier from my mail box. On page 44.

F. Original German WWII P38 Pistol True masterpieced in firearms design, these original WWII pistols are in great shape with crisp markings and very little wear. Don't wait and be disappointed with this great opportunity to own a piece of history! 5" barrel, Overall Length 8.5", Weight: 1.8 lbs. Caliber 9mm
Cat. No. 401010
S.I.R. Price $849.99

$850 for a P38. Ain't that a little steep? They didn't even mention that it was from Hitler's private collection.:(

If anyone wants to save a few bucks I will make this offer. You can buy any one of my three P38s (your pick) for the low price of $650. And NO TAX.
And wait, there's more, I will also pay the shipping.:D

P38.jpg

Oh yeah, D. German K98 Bolt Action Rifle. Refinished 8mm $299.99

850 for a P.38!!!! thats nuts, they better be in unfired condition and all marked byf42 in that price range...

P.38's should stay in the 500 range imho, so i can still afford them :D

Also from the flier

The following is NOT the picture in the flier but it does look the same (to me) except the SIR gun does not have a sling.

LOL. $850 for a refinished Russian Capture P38. Now I know why P&S is only selling the P1's at a much better price. Looks like SIR will keep most of their crappy P38's for a very long time...

$299 isn;t that bad for a K98k RC though. Wonder if they will be as nice as the P&S ones that still have swastikas intact?

at $850 they will sell a few to nebies who dont know any better

basically they will get ripped off BIG time

I hope the k98's are not as nice as P&S as i just bought 2 from jean! (cost more then sir)
the 36 S147 and the 45 dou needed some of the rare codes in the collection!
