starter flinty

Old blackpowder joke I heard years ago, if you want to learn to swear buy a flintlock rifle. But seriously with a bit of care and a decent flint, they are quite reliable

I want to get into bp shooting. I have only a basic knowledge of them. I would like to know where to get a cheapish starter flintlock rifle (i take even reproductions are classified as "antiques?). Are the kits easy to assemble with simple tools? thanks in advance
The kits come semi-finished,they are inletted and require final fit and finishing.
It would come down to,can you use basic woodworking tools and have the patience to final fit all the unfinished piece?
You have one of the best resources in this part of the country to fall back on,I know Mooncoon would be great go to person for help,he's not too far away from you.:)
www.trackofthewolf.com has a lot of different kits to choose from, you would have a quality rifle in comparison to a T/C or Lyman etc.
Nanaimo is having a BP shoot on Feb 18,come on out and meet the members and talk to some of them about building your own.Try out a few .
Cheers nessy.
