Been trying fullbore shooting with an Omark this year, and really enjoying it. But, I'm left handed and getting tired of 'swimming' my arms after every shot to reload. I want to build a fullbore rifle out of a lefty Remington SPS I have lying around, but I'm hung up on a stock. I haven't done enough to be convinced of the dimensions I want so a full custom isn't in the cards. Boyds' doesn't offer the Pro Varmint in lefty SPS (and yes, I called, asked, filled out the form). What's a good beginner stock I can mess with until I find my formula for LOP rise?

You could use the Sportco stock and adapt it to fit the LH Rem. Lots of lefties have shot RH guns for years and for F Class it is ideal same as righties shooting LH guns. This is for TR?
Yes, for TR. I tried some F class last year and agree a right bolt works just fine for shooting left off a rest.
The Sportco feels too narrow in the fore end is it's biggest fit problem for me. I also find I have a bad habit of sitting my cheek too far aft of the rear sight although the LOP feels right. Maybe I need to shift my hand stop forward.
If you move the handstop forward you are in effect moving the rifle back. This will increase the pressure on your shoulder which will lessen the recoil on your forward hand. About two inches is okay to not get whacked by the sight. If it has a Central sight you can move it as needed. You can add some wood to the for end if you want it wider just don't get too carried away. The SportCo was the first step away from the #4 or Smellie hence the narrow stock.
