It doesn't really matter. You may want to try both. When you order the holster you can also order the extra parts (and thus be free to switch them) if you want.

I got my complete IPSC rig for my M&P9 from him.

AA belt, Bladetech holster and Ghost mag pouches. Can't go wrong with comb for our M&P9

Blackhawk SERPA CQC holster, Blackhawk mag pouches. the CQC is light, sturdy, and easy to use. I like the adjustments. The detent on the inside can be adjusted for DUTY (stiff)/Range (loose).

You can't use DOH for IDPA.

For my M&P9 I use an SRB holster (better stability on the belt) and tekloc mag pouches (easier to get on and off) on a 2" operator belt. This is a good, affordable setup for both IPSC and IDPA.
