I have been debating on starting 3 gun and was just wondering on what you need! I am thinking about buying a vz58, walther ppq and a Remington 870. But what are all the other things you need?

Which VZ Rifle? Are you going to use the mag adapter & enable it to run on the LAR15 mags? The 10 round pistol mag capacity really is an advantage in 3 gun.

As for a shotgun, the guys running the KSG have 15 rounds... Again, it's about 'gaming'... Every advantage is a good one!

Cheers
Jay

Yeah but every perceived advantage can be nullified by course design and match rules.
Having 15 found cap is great, but not much of a real advantage if the rules state max starting capacities...
Also.. A lot depends on what div. you decide to shoot.

Best thing to do is find out who's matches you'll be shooting before running out and buying gear.

On example.... Guy shows up at a TH match with a shotgun that has a ported barrel.
Declares his div. as tac-ops, but....gets thrown into "open" because if his ported barrel.
Too bad so sad... Read the rules.

Yes I was going to get a mag adapter, and i know that there are different rules for each event but I was looking at what's the recommended amount of mags, and all of that other gear

I'd stay away from anything 7.62x39
Any match with steel will likely forbid steel core (cheap) ammo.
You'll have to spend extra $ on ammo that isn't steel core...

Here is 3 gun nation magazine.
Its geared towards the US and the matches they hold down there, but you can get an idea of what the top in the sport run.
Youtube vids of the big guys will show their equipment and some of the techniques they use.

There is no right answer as to what is best etc, but what seems to work for most is an AR15, a reliable pump shotgun or semi, and the pistol of their choice.

The KSG shotgun was mentioned.
I'm not convinced it is any better or faster than my supernova with the extended mag tube (that holds 13 rounds by the way)
I think a conventional pump is faster to load and use while on the clock.
The ksg has 2 mag tubes, a switch between the two and whatever else.
Plus to reload you have to reach all the way back to the base of the butt stock.
too many things that can trip you up when adrenaline is pumping and time is running.

Having said that, if you are not in it to win it, then use whatever you want, be safe and have fun.
The more people that take part in all versions of the shooting sports, the better.

x2 plus accuracy with a 5.56mm is better. Lethbridge runs 3 gun matches around August each year.
