If you are speaking of older CZ's , yes they had some trigger issues , which were dealt with.
npo one would shoot a gun that has a habit of breaking , not Tom Knapp or someone like Patrick Flannigan.

Don't get me started on salt wood Brownings or older berretas that parts were not avalable for!

Like I said, they are all a POS if they are broken, and a neame these days will not gaurantee you will not have issues with it.

Were talking about the Huglu's guns made for CZ, and we're talking about Target Shooting, not trick shooting by a paid REP.
Tom Knapps and whom ever have guns given to them on a monthly basis, let talk about reality here.
Browning Salt-Wood problem from the late sixties was unfortunate,..But...because Browning offered a Life Time gaurantee to all Superposes, this matter was quickly addressed by Browning. John/Val Browning were pioneers and geniuses, all too many companies copied and followed,...please, lets not compare them to Huglu CZ.
Sure all guns break down,..and like I said,...20 years down the road, you will still be able to get parts for a citori or a Beretta 680 series,...these are facts.

I've got dozens of different brands of shotguns and yes , they are all good, even the CZ's which you don't seem to be able to get over the fact that they are a decently made gun.
I have no doubt that parts will be able available for them in the future IF they break.
If you don't think that exhibition shooters shoot a high volume of ammo, you are very wrong.

I have to say that the CZ Huglu's are not the same quality as the B guns its true. But to call them junk is not true also for the average hunter that also does some weekend clay shooting they are great especially the SXS in small bore which are a great value. When CZ first started importing them they did have some quality control issues but CZ stood behind them with a great warranty and since I believe 2007 all the bugs have been worked out of them.

my private joke is that i do have a "B" gun: and Ithaca skB

i didn't have the $ to buy a real SKB and found and an Ithaca sSKB O/U for 600 bucks and i have to say i am thrilled
bought this at the same time as two friends who bought Yildiz from P.R., both of which lasted about 400 rounds and then the ejectors malfunctioned on gun #1 and the opening mechanism ceased to function on gun #2. both were returned with the rest of us looking on with raised eyebrows........
meanwhile i just keep happily shooting big holes in the sky with my trusty and beautiful Ithaca. i lucked out with some really good wood rather than the usual plain jane skb wood.Also, i think the fixed chokes on mine are magical - beautiful patterns with a full over mod. configuration. having never had a good shootable double gun i do appreciate the two chokes for when we play the handicap games
i just had to chime in as i am starting to think that they could maybe be called a "B" gun.

oh!! i guess it is because i was shooting trap practice with the gun and a fellow showed me his semi-auto that said simply SKB on it
and another fella showed me his shotgun that said MIroku on it. so i assumed that these two Co's. that job out for Ithaca and browning both made their own in house brand of shotgun.

6Lb 3Oz + Trap Loads = Pain for no reason. My Akkar Churchill 206 Hunter has little over 1000 rounds through it so far without a hiccup, at 8Lbs it's a little light for the games but seems to soak recoil nicely. Every make will break eventually, the question is when. In the past month at our club I've seen a Kolar that keeps doubling and a Winchester 101 Pigeon Grade that won't fire the bottom barrel half the time, neither of which would one use the word junk around.

Every gun does breaks eventually. The cheap ones usually break sooner, more often and are harder to fix.

In the meantime they handle like stumps, don't put patterns in the same area code, have crappy triggers, sloppy ejectors and poor fit and finish. If you are going to spend the money on club fees, targets and ammunition why not spend the extra money to get a proven gun?

They are like the chev 350 of the o/u shotgun world. Lots of parts, cheap if you watch for used and always some market for them.

fit is the key.
 
I used to say that the best thing a cheap over/under does is prove to you why you'll spend more on one next time.

That being said, I haven't held or shot any of the new CZ models.

You won't go too far wrong if you pick up a used Citori trap model.

Can't stress that enough, if it doesn't fit you'll never hit a damn thing.........
I watched a guy save up and finance a 15 thousand dollar krieghoff only to shoot in the low teens on the trap range, given that he was shooting endless 24's and 25's with a Condor but wanted to step up to the plate and try to fit in more with the big boys.........

best advice is to try a few on the field and see what fits and works for you, better to buy into what you can shoot rather then buy into frustration and low scores
 
Beretta it has been sent back for repairs, and did have upwards of 10k through it, the Winchester had even more, but the smith working on it seems a little lost on the actual issue.I have one member who shoots a CZ Mallard, has better than 5k through it so far without an issue, another with a Stoeger Uplander that has devlopped minor play at around 2500. Most members shoot Beretta or Browning O/Us, we see a couple Caesar Guerinis and 2 have Bettensolis.
