starting out

Hard to tell without knowing your budget and how tall they are. I would suggest you plan for them to grow some. Buy a used gun that fits them, preferably with adjustable stock length, or pan on adding spacers later on.

I would look for a good quality auto loader. they tend to be lighter on recoil, and more of a pleasure to shoot. Stay with 12 ga. They will out grow sub gauges and move up to 12 anyway. Stay away from Turkish guns, they are of questionable quality. I have a 391 Beretta, that I keep around just for that purpose. Youths or women that want to try shooing. If you give a new shooter, a gun that kicks, it can scare them away. After that its just head on the stock eye on the rock . If they enjoy this game it wont be long they will want to up grade. your quality auto will hold its value. I realize these boys are just starting out and this will get them going. However shotguns are all about fit. When your boys are done growing, Then its time for a personal gun... good luck

Keep it simple. Something like an 870 or SXP. Maybe an SX3 or 4. I would buy a coupe of used guns and see how they work out so you don't tie up too much money. Gun fit might be an issue depending on their size. I gaurantee you that once they have to start paying for their own ammo and targets in a few years their interest in trap will drop off considerably. Girlfriends will cut into their time too.
