Hello!
Anyone around here can tell me the status of a Saint-Étienne 1892 8mm. revolver?
Does that firearm qualify as an "Antique" or is it still considered as a registerable and restricted firearm?
One of my friends wants to import such a firearm but he doesn't know if it has to be registered.
Here's a pic he sent me:

Barrel date

There should be a date on the right side of the barrel. If its 1897 or earlier, its antique.
I think he said there's a date on the barrel : S1912

So, if my friend wants that revolver imported in this country, he'll have many hurdles to jump, I guess...
Maybe he'll have to rethink it or have it deactivated by a knowledgeable armorer abroad. Too bad.:(

antique

send a letter and pics to the cfc , they deregistered my hand gun last month, depends on date made mostly, bryan.

1912 is the date of manufacture. It isn't an antique, would be a restricted firearm here. It would be subject to US export and Candian import law.
