Stay away from quality 1911s!

If things had gone just a bit differently the original chambering would have been 10mm, .41 was JMB's original envisioned calibre. US Army wanted .45 minimum so the rest is history.

Ha. Good info. Now I can say I'm actually a purist.
 
I love my 1911 in 9mm, it's a Springfield, I got it cheap with 6 mags. I can buy 500 rounds for $230 and it goes bang.
I will eventually buy the Springfield Ronin in 10mm, but I have to sell a couple off so the wife won't notice.
 
Bought my first pistol ever today! An unmolested low round count (50 total) before being parked as a collector Series 70 MKIV Colt 1911 Gold Cup National Match... Super stoked!
