Anyone know any vendors that sell steel 5/30 AK magazines for a reasonable price?
The only vendor I can find with a Google search is Marstar but I'm not paying $80 for an AK magazine when as a last resort I could buy a bunch in the USA and get IRG to pin them and bring them up here for cheaper.
I need magazines for an SKS-D I recently purchased. I hate the short mags and PMAGS don't fit the magwell.

I was just about to suggest that. 1/2 price metal T81 mags work just fine... the only thing is that some may require re-pinning as they are pinned to tight at 5 rounds , but should be at 5.5
 
Some ak mags have a follower that activates a bolt catch. If You have an sksD u want a mag with a rounded edge at the rear of the follower so when the mag is empty it doesn’t bind on your bolt and make removing the mag difficult. If the follower has a rounded rear edge the bolt will slide over the follower and fully close making mag removal easy. You could always taper the edge of the follower if the follower activates a bolt catch...

Out of the 8 I have, none will lock. They hinge in in the front just fine and when you rock them back they JUST about lock.....almost seems like if I filed a few thou off of the back of the locking tab they might lock.
I'm disappointed Pmags don't work in the SKS-D. They don't fit at all in mine.
