Steel Challenge at abby rod and gun UPDATE: We have legit steel!

nothing like the support of your friends. ####ers.
good night, had a blast. congrats to Tim on kicking my ass too.

Are these going to be weekday or weekend matches? If you're putting them on at the weekends is there any chance you can coordinate with Mission so that the match dates don't clash. I think Mission start up again in April. The more steel shooting for everyone the better as far as I'm concerned.

its open to non members, you just need to pay the $10 guest fee as well as the $5 fee

for the winter months its a week nights only, one or two stage practice session, when the shooting season hits im hoping to have enough steel to shoot full matches and those will be on the weekend, and i will do my best to not have them the same week as mission unless that is the only weekend of the month open at the club

Cool. I know a lot of people who shoot at Mission will be interested. Some months they've been getting 40-50 shooters a match. There's lots of interest. Mission are also setting up for Bianchi and falling plates next year. There's also been talk about setting up a ProAm style shoot with 30-40 steel targets per stage shot against fairly aggressive par times.

Just on a side note, I've always thought there's some mileage in offering a speed carbine match - a match specifically for carbines with the steel set much further out.

yep every wed

its 6 till 8ish, bring as many rounds as you want to shoot, its practice so we set up a stage and just run everyone through it (usually this breaks out in who can get the fastest single string of the night)

tonight was great, warmer than the last 2 nights and i set up one of the harder stages so was challenging but a good time, some video from this week and the last one before christmas is on the way

oh it rained, check out the very start of the video from yesterday

best part of steel, you shoot under cover. and if we ever remember to bring a power drill we wont even have to go reset stuff
