Steel Challenge at abby rod and gun has been set in motion! it will start in the new year, maybe earlier if there is a good response and we can swing it

great winter sport since you dont have to go out and tape targets or do much of anything, can stay dry and shoot even while it rains. great practice for draw, transitions and speed shooting for your other pistol sports as well.

Practice is every Tuesday

UPDATE

$5 to shoot (add 10$ if you are a non-member)

start at 6pm, show up earlier if you want to help set up. Show up with what you have, no magnum calibers (including .22mag) as per the steel challenge rules.

if you have a spare gun with mags that you dont mind someone else borrowing shoot me a pm and ill keep a list, And if you dont have a pistol but what to try it out send me a pm as well and i will try and match you up.

Met with HeavenisAlie tonight and we hammered out some good ideas I think. This will fall under the IPSC club however no Black Badge will be required.

I would be interested coming out for a monthly or bi-weekly match.
.22's allowed?

.22s allowed, steel challenge is one of the few world championship level competitions where .22 is a legit class (several different classes actually) you regularly see people from the "super squad" shooting rimfire classes

Excellent. I have a Tanfoglio Force 22L that was not getting much use until I started to attend the steel matches in Mission. Mission steel matches are now stopped for the winter months.

Will the matches be open to non-club members like Mission?

Yes the matches will be open to non members. They may need to pay slightly more for the match. That is being discussed currently.

i'll see what i can do, maybe run an evening stage in early dec if there is enough interest. shoot from 6 onward
If you build it, they will come. Just advertise here, club calender and the IPSC-BC website on the date & time. Do a email preregister to get a idea of how many people will show up. Just don't pick Dec 2nd or 3rd, I am out of town :p.
