Steel shot in Lakefield Mossberg 500?

If you've came across my other thread you'll know im interested in getting into goose/duck hunting.
They always say never use steel shot in older guns and I'm wonder if my Lakefield is too old?
It has thread in chokes so no full choke issues.
 
I was told by a reputable to go ahead and use it. When you can feel a wear ring inside the barrel from the shot, have it modified for removable choke system
 
None of the screw in chokes are rated for steel shot. If you must use one, use Imp Cyl or Modified. They will be tighter with steel as it doesn't compress like lead.
 
Some of the older Mossbergs use the Winchester designed chokes and they weren't rated for steel.

Are you referring to this style of choke?
