Steel shot shell

I bought a Reminton model 870 express magnum with a 26" barrel with a mod choke can I use steel shot shells ?

yes, unless the choke is specifically marked "lead shot only".

There has been a lot of them gone through mine.

You can, but mine after 250 or so rounds has just barley started to bulge on 1 side.

I looked at the choke and don't see any thing that says lead only.So I guess I can use steel shot.Thanks

It's only the screw in choke that has a tad bulge. When the tubes turned 1 way it wont drop into the barrel. I already replaced it with a thicker extended aftermarkey choke tube so I'm good.
