Hey y'all

My dad is thinking about coming duck hunting with me this fall. His old duck gun (pre-steel shot) was a Winchester 2200 (I think it's a full choke). I'm guessing it's PROBABLY not a good idea for him to shoot steel in this?

And . . .

If I was to buy myself a second shotgun to shoot steel in, so he could use it, would a Baikal single work? I've seen lots of them advertised with chrome bores, but I'm not sure if that means they are ready for steel . . . I realize that a repeater would work better, but I really don't have the money to put into another repeating shotgun at the moment (unless it was a bolt gun, which isn't great for ducks).

It's usually a bad idea to shoot steel through a full choke. Modified is OK though. You can get his opened up to Mod at a gunsmith for (the last one I had done) $30. This will be cheaper than buying a new gun. You can also get shot that isn't lead, but legal to hunt with that can shoot through a full choke, it's expensive though.
