I talked to a guy at the Steiner booth at Show Show. He told me they beat out Schmidt and Bender for a German Military contract. Not really a definitive answer but it tells you the German military probably tested both and preferred the Steiner, or Steiner gave them a better deal lol

Tough question, as scopes are very subjective outside of glass quality. I'm not sure how the Steiner compares, but snipershide, a forum, has a lot of quality information on it. Many of the people are even more opinionated than here, but some are very knowledgeable.
