Hello all,

Recently purchased a new to me Weatherby Mark V Hunter without an optic and I’m weighing my options after a few evening of research my stuck between the Steiner Predator 4 4-16x50 and the Leupold VX-3HD 3.5-10x50. Looking for those who have hands on experience with either or both to give honest opinions on their thoughts on each. And also those willing to weigh in on other scopes around 1300$ cad with that power range with a 50-52mm objective lense would be much appreciated.

I picked up one of the Steiner's this past year and couldn't be more impressed. I have countless Leupolds ranging from VX-3's to a number of VX-R's and I would say that the Steiner is right in there if not even a tad better. I would buy another in a heartbeat - not knocking Leupolds either as I buy more of them too.

Just a reality check, the 2 scopes you mentioned aren't even in the same class for weight. If it matters at all to you, the stiener is almost 10 ounces heavier than the leupold.

The Steiner will cost you $1250?
A VX 3 2.10 is like $700?

I can’t comment on the Steiner but I just got a Zeiss v4 Conquest 4.-5x44 , $1250 off the EE.
It’s miles ahead of the VX3/VX3 HD /ZL line.
I find it on par/or a touch better than the VX5HD.

A $1250 Steiner should be the same maybe?
