I believe Crown Surplus is open till the end of November…I was in there yesterday and it’s looking rather empty…there was a sten dewat hanging on the wall and a sign underneath implying they had more…$500 each.

There used to be a pile of them at one time, cut to rat ####, 9.95 each.

The Crown Surplus dewats were all torch deactivated and some are nicer than others. I've got one that was hand selected to have the least amount of damage, which is still somewhat relative.

I also got a bunch of spare trigger parts for my 12.3 MK2 ... just in case we are allowed to use our guns again in the future.

What do you mean by "refinish?"

Lots of Sten were originally painted w black semi-gloss BBQ paint.

Some were "chemically stained".
Cdn Stens were Parkerized.

Stens were made in a number of different places by many different makers so there is no standard finish. I had a Sten MK3 and IIRC that thing had the semi-gloss BBQ paint on it. Its not an overly nice surface finish but that's what they used.

I painted my Sten with grey cerkote and then lightly misted a green over top. That produced a nice "parkerized" like colour that is fairly tough.
