the problem with importing MG parts is that importing parts for use exclusively in a prohibited weapon...... is a criminal offence

NOW one would then assume that with this sten approved sten parts would NOW NOT be exclusively for use in a prohibited weapon (and if that was the case you would be ok to import them IF you could legally EXPORT them from another country (not likely usa would approve permits)

so if the above were true then if somebody got another type of gun approved that was befroe prohib because of FA/ca then those parts should also be ok to import If you could find a legally export from somewhere

Now as we all know the gov dose not make sense in most cases. my above post is MY GUESS and id suggest calling RCMP weapons people and the CGD people BEFORE attempting any imports

Thank you for the clarification, this does make more sense to me . I suppose you are right regarding the "importation of parts for a non-prohibited firearm". Which does make the acquisition of parts to construct initial gun, that would be sent in for RCMP approval, somewhat difficult...

You need a semi auto, to justify the parts as semi auto for importation, but cannot obtain the parts to BUILD the semi auto innitially, as no semi auto exists for those parts... Confusing maybe, but it is like a viscous circle that is VERY hard to break.

You are right, finding parts within canada is the key.

The stupidity of making a removable part the "registerable" part when the gun can fire without that part is mind numbing. And they call themselves "firearms experts".

If you thought that was mind numbing then how about that they wanted to return a MK3 sten to ######## for repair because they could not figure out how to work the safety. There were two safeties, a MK5 handle safety and a ######## designed sear disconnect safety. They could not work either

They were even given an instructional video on how operate the disconnect safety.
