I'm looking to upgrade my 3-9x50MC conquest scope with an updated illuminated model to go on my model savage 220. Will I see an increase or decrease in glass quality if I got with a Burris Fullfield IV 3-12x56 or VX-FREEDOM 3-9x50 firedot?

Can't speak to the burris but I'd say that's unlikely. Definitely not with the freedom. I have a rimfire version and like it but not as good as my older meopta meopro (same as the old zeiss).

I'd say you'd need to step up to vx5hd to see a noticeable improvement in glass and even then it would be close to comparable.

I have a 3-9x50 Zeiss, and have had a Leupold vx5hd. I got rid of the Leupold. The Zeiss has better image quality and the red dot in the Leupold was not even centered. I sent it to Korth, for warranty, but they said it was within Leupold standards. Somebody else might like that standard, but not me.

I'm a big Meopta fan and I have 3. Two are Meostar 4-16x44mm and the third is an older ZD model. The brightness is the best I've seen so far. I did some digging around and found an article from Europe saying that Zeiss Conquests were one of the scopes Meopta manufactured. Turns out there's a few brand name scopes made by Meopta but the article didn't specify. Maybe the magazine didn't want to tick off their sponsors?

The Meopros are fantastic for the money but the Meostars are amazing edge to edge on all powers for colour and brightness. Those are scopes you'll keep forever and sell the rifles without them.

I found the opposite.
I had a 3-9x40 conquest that I had no problem selling as I found it much nicer to be behind a vx3 3.5-10x40 Leupold.
