you have to define"well made"- if you ck the boards out of the states , you'll see some real horror stories as well as some gems- the reason you don't see as many in canada as they're a rare bird up here as most folks can't afford them or don't want to wait - remember, you can get roughly 4 rincos for the price of ONE m1a, and even if you were to completely trick it out with usgi parts , you would still probably be money ahead- personally, i'd go for a build by m14 doctor or somebody before going the springfield route-

The Springfields are highly overpriced for what you get.
You can buy a Norinco and build it up with top shelf parts for the same money as a box stock M1A ( or less ) and have a better rifle.

Yup, M14 sweetness is definately achieved in spades with an LRB M25 receiver
Speaking of which, your rear lugged M25 "Super Scout" is now complete on my bench and today I discovered something interesting. A rear lugged LRB M25 receiver fits a chinese plastic stock with very minimal fitting. Solves the dilema I was having over how to accomplish the all important test fire.
Are you saying you got one of these into canada?
Pretty cool, but you could probably buy two norinco m14s for the same price as that receiver
