A side note question. If it has been reclassified as a pistol why can’t people go to the range and use it? People bought those guns when classified as NR so they were able to be sold, transported and received. Then it got reclassified to prohibit and now a pistol which I get are not allowed to be sold etc but you are already in possession of it so why can’t owners go to the range then with it making this back and forth unnecessary. Genuinely curious on this.

Because Team Elbows said it was assault style (even though it seems no one can define it - "shoulder thing that goes up" or some other Liberal horseplop I would imagine).
If you are looking for logic in Canadian firearm law with the Liberals at the controls you are in for a rough ride.
Because Bill-21 prohibits the issuance of a Handgun registration Certificate to Individuals in most circumstances. There's never been a Certificate issued in this case, and now there can't be. They are unregistered Handguns.
