I just saw this stuff from the Canada ammo newsletter, has anyone use this before? I can’t seem to find any reviews on it but for 32.99 a brick, it doesn’t seem like a bad deal. Jo Brook has the same ammo for 74.99

I'd buy a few boxes of 50 to try if I could get it locally. (=no shipping $) I won't commit to a brick of anything until I know how it shoots. Some good prices on CCI SV out there lately too..so not feeling overly tempted to mail order an ammo I know nothing about.

My club uses it for Junior 22 shoots. Runs fine in bolt guns and is typical of bulk rimfire: a little dirty, generally accurate, very few duds.

Not sure how it would run in semis. My boys cracked a few mags through my 10/22 without issue.

This is very interesting. I've never encountered them before, but they seem to be a newish (2008) BC based all Canadian ammo company that's been supplying our police and military and they seem to claim all their ammo is made in Canada (that may not be what they're actually saying but they suggest it). To have a Canadian manufacturer of .22 rounds is something I dreamed of in the Obama years but never thought would happen, due to the high startup expense of the equipment.

They say they have a factory outlet (!) but I'm not sure how that works, its being located in BC puts it out of my reach anyway.

I hope reviews of their ammo, 22 LR in particular, will be posted as people try it.

Sterling 22LR ammo which is now sold by Canada Ammo is made in the USA. Apparently it's not made in Canada. It's only re-packaged by Sterling Cross.

From what I understand to get the "Ok" from the department of natrual resources (they handle explosives and ammunition) it's quite the lengthy process. I talked to a small time custom ammo reloader/manufacture in Orgeon and he said he was 3 years into his application and no word yet.

I was given a few boxes to try earlier this year and still have some on hand. The script-style "A" headstamp is Aquila's, so I expect that is where SC sources it and has it packaged in their name. I tried it in a BSA Martini Model 13 and an Enfield No8, and found the results to be unreliable (but no misfires). A run of a five rounds might produce a <1" group (50 yds), but then the next five rounds would spread out to 1.5"+. Also, the after-odor smells to me like they use the same propellant as Eley. I'm sticking to CCI SV and RWS for my shooting.

That's what I was thinking Aquila has been pretty much available thru CTC stores the last few years

Dropped into their store the other day.
The brass is Aguilla. Velocity is listed at 1130 fps.
$54.99 per brick.
Will try one box on Sunday. Don't want to experiment during the Speed Steel match today.

Tried it today in the Ruger 10/22 rifle and function was okay but accuracy sucks. Shot at the center of the paper and it appeared close to sighted in. Next on went high over the target. Back to the first shot and it was an inch high and left. Shooting at the center of the target and over the top. Sighted at the bottom of the 7 ring and all over the place.
Will pound it out at the next speed steel match.
Tested it in my Anschutz 1416 D and that sucked too. Went back to the Federal Match 922A and fired four shots under one inch, and my friend tried my rifle and shot five rounds very close to an inch. Both at 100 meters.
My friend had tried it previously and as far as he is concerned it is Aguilla but Aguilla in a box was more accurate.
Hopefully SC will come out to a match . . . the invitation was extended.

At $7.00 per box or $54.99 per brick, CCI SV at $50 per brick is a better deal in my opinion.
Why the 1130 fps velocity remains a mystery but if I have a free day I may test it over the Chrony.

I just tried some out this morning in a 452 lux, 455 stainless and 455 night sky.
I ran some through the waltz die last night with a mild hollow point and some with a larger hollow point. The accuracy did follow the amount of upset and depth of the hollow point. I shot some .5 groups at 50 meters but more at .6-.8" un hollow pointed were .6-1.25" for 5 shots at 50 meters and it shot best in the stainless.

I would say it is not quite on par with CCI blazer which in my rifles is more consistent.

Does it smell, or stink? As I recall from the days of my youth, the only ammo that smelt worse than the Aquila stuff, was the really crappy Russian ammo that the local gas station sold for really cheap, which aside from smelling like you had stepped in a dog turd from a stray that had been eating rotten fish, had a misfire rate of about half.

Gotta admit, got a good laugh at the whole "Special Ops Ammo" label! Lame!
