I just bought a Stevens 124C cross bolt shotgun made from 1947 to 1952. I've never seen one before but found it a very interesting concept. I thought at first that it was a semi-auto, that's what it looks like at first glance. It has a wood-grain tenite (an early and very durable plastic made entirely from softwood, introduced in 1929 and still in use) stock. I haven't tried it out yet and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with one. I expect they were a low end shotgun, but the quality seem quite good, and this one is still in very good shape although obviously used extensively. Comments?
