Okay ,just to be clear,This is not a restoration or a cool SteamPunk mod.
I simply wanted to salvage this rough 25 rf into a shooter as cheap as possible.
Barrel was Done so I fit a 10-22 bbl.
Lever was sloppy so I made brass bushings .
But stock had broken Toe & side panel , so I patched it & replaced the plastic but pad. (i had a new one )
Made a new for-end just because ,from the comb off a coey stock & made a brass escutcheon .
Made a couple of mistakes but over all the results a quite satisfying & it shoots as good as my eyes will allow ;)

years from now someone is gonna get their hands on that and post it here and ask what it is and everyone is gonna freak out about that barrel.
hehehe, i hope im still alive when it happens so i can have a good giggle about it!

it looks good too by the way.

Great idea. We have one at the farm that needs the same upgrade. I think my father has one in 25rf and possible another cal as well. Have to check the next time I am home.

I think it is awesome to get these old girls shooting again. Question: did you slightly offset the barrel to get the firing pin to align? Anyway, nice work, it looks great, happy shooting.

NO , I just turned the shank to fit ,& drill a recess for the retainer screw .Reamed the chamber for the rim recess (10-22 recess is on the bolt face like most) , & cut a new extractor groove at 6:00 instead of 3:00

AAA+. Excellent job of keeping an old girl shooting and very innovative as well. CCI CBs are probably not the best indicator of the potential accuracy of the rifle.

That's what all my Model 30 targets at 25m look like shooting offhand. Still learning to use the notch and post sights but I'm always shocked at how light it is when I pick it up.

I can only imagine some RCMP weapon tech creating a new FRT for a Steven-Ruger...

Nice work by the way!

I had wondered whether the 25rf firing pin would be close enough without any modification. Good to know.
