And I have talked my GF into buying me a .223 for an early birthday present for sure. I will not be shooting this thing anymore until hunting season! I will use the cash I save on ammo to save for a better scope. I just hope the .223 shoots as well as this. Otherwise I am going to have to start handloading for the .270 to get costs down. But the .223 is soooo much cheaper. We will see what happens.

Gun is now up for sale!!!!!!!! It was originally supposed to just be a cheap hunting rifle, but now I have the range bug, and can't afford to shoot .270 all day! I am selling this one to get a .223 unless someone has one to trade. Cheap shooter if anyone is interested. Not sure if Ill get in trouble for posting price here but heres the link.

Stevens 200

He has the fever and is starting to make some sense now.

I think you will probably be very happy with the .223. I bought a Stevens 200in .223, a couple of years ago, and it has performed above my expectations.

The dealer threw in a box of Winchester 40 grain factory ammo, and it grouped under an inch. While the 50, 52, and 55 grain reloads hover in the one inch area, I found that 60 grain Hornadys and IMR 4320 would get me down to about 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards, with a few smaller than that.

The 60 grain bullets are better for Coyotes in our Manitoba winds, and a proper hit on a Coyote has never failed to anchor one.

Friends of mine have bought Stevens 200 rifles in .243, 25-06, and 7mm-08, and are well pleased with them. We are talking about Hunting rifles here, not Benchrest. They can't be beat for the price.

I also own a Stevens Model 200 in .270 and have a Bushnell Banner 6x18x50 scope mounted on it.

I have had a trigger job done on it.

I've been getting 1 inch groups and under at 100 yards. I'm so happy with this rifle.

Great value and even greater quality.
