Was there a thread recently about someone having ejection problems with their 200?

Tonight, my 7mm-08 has the plunger spring stuck in the bolt head. Very nice for shooting off the bench, as it doesn't toss the cases twenty feet away like it used to, but not tooooooo good for hunting. ;)

I think the thread was an extraction survey, or it should have been. A Savage guru decided to ask a forum if they were having trouble and what everyone's brass rim and groove measuremients were. Many reported thicker than normal rims on their brass. However, it doesn't add up in my books. Most of use have used crappy or bunged up brass for years and didn't have any trouble. I'm suspicious of the new type extractors since they are machined different. Haven't had time to investigate.

Chances are you need a new ejector spring if it got stuck.

Cheers

I was talking to Bill Leepeer yesterday and he told me the same thing, that the spring could be bunged up and would need to be replaced..

I will check it out tonight.

Thanks,
Ted

Removed the ejector plunger and discovered the spring was all bunched up. Spent a few mintues stretching it back to shape and reassembled.

Works even better now, as it only throws the cases about two feet.

Bill is ordering me a new spring...................:D
