Stevens 200 in 308, can I install a better magazine?

The single row magazine is very cumbersome, specially when loading the 4th round. Is it possible to install a 2-row magazine from another model of Savage?

Anyways single row loads much more reliably than staggered anyways.

I think the old ones were staggered, but the new ones are center feed.

I heard sharpshootersupply.com is working on a detachable magazine retrofit.

Dicking around with a Stevens 200 kinda defeats the point. It's supposed to be an accurate econo rifle right outta the box. Maybe paint the stock, but throw on your choice of scope & you should be good to go.

I totally agree! This is a cheap accurate rifle. But when there is a stark contrast between the comfortable mag of my 1 year older 223 and POS new 308, this really defeats the purpose.

The new mag in 308 is intolerable.

And I found that the ceter feed mags in the Stevens feeds better than the staggered.... personal choice I guess.

Since you have one of the new center feed Stevens, you can easily add a center feed detachable mag system that really works great.
