It's a given that the stock sucks. According to Boyd's they and several others don't even make a stock for the new ("3rd generation") SA Savage action, the one with 4.400" action screw spacing. Any ideas on who does make replacement, decent stocks?

Ian Robertson can help you with a top quality composite stock.

There might be some HS and McM floating around too.

As for lam, no one I am aware of makes them in Canada. Just keep an eye on export rules.

Curious to see the pricing on the new Accu-stocks savage is putting out.... maybe cheaper than buying a Stevens 200 and then a quality aftermarket stock....

The factory stock on mine is pillar bedded. A little bit of glass behind the lug and at the tang should make it plenty good.

Mine shoots 1/2 MOA or better so what more do you want?

Sure they start out ugly, that's what everybody says. But they do lend themselves very easily to a nice bedding job, shoot like a darn and then put on a nice paint job. I'd shoot this little 7-08 against most anything.

This paint job is going on another that is currently getting prep'd.
