So I have had this like new Stevens 200 cf in 223 laying around here for a few years and decided it was time to do something with it. My plan is to put it in a Boyd's stock and have a detachable mag.
Does anyone know what model of savage I should be looking at for the bottom metal and mag plate? It is my understanding that I can use my internal mag box and follower correct? I tried looking at savages website but you need to input a serial number to order the correct parts.
I managed to find a couple part numbers online I was hoping someone here could help me with.
Mag bottom. 106253
Bottom metal frame 106705 or 106238. Not sure which one is correct.

I'm sure someone here has done this conversion and might be able to help and I thank you in advance.

I wonder if Boyd's could give you some insight on this?
Do they offer this configuration or set up?
Start whittling away at the stock and end up with no wood to
work with would sure fruck up a nice laminate.
Not to mention the time and $$ too.

Apparently savage sells the bottom metal for DBM and associated parts, call them first, I swapped the fixed floorplate to the DBM floorplate on my model 16 without having to modify the stock, I would guess yours should be the same, but easiest thing to do is see if boyds lists a different stock for DBM then they do for fixed floor plate.

I used the complete bottom metal and stock from a cheap FCXP 11 package in .308, swapped the bottom mag plate from the .308 box to the Stevens .223 internal box... Very simple process... You just need a stock inletted for DBM, the factory DBM and a mag floor plate without the box... There should be some for sale on the EE by folks who swapped savage actions into aftermarket chassis.

Model is not so important... Action screw spacing is.

There was a U.S. gunsmith who made a conversion package for the Stevens 200 with a ten round detachable magazine. Some internet searching might show whether that is still available, but then there will still be potential obstacles with export regulations. If you can't get one, you might still learn something useful from it.

could be dark eagle custom, I know northern republic magazine (a site sponsor) sells them for .308, I didn't think that mag would work for the .223, if it does you should be able to order their 10 round mag (which will likely fit more then 10.
