Stevens 200 trigger fix

Stuck a Rifle Basix in mine, factory one couldn't be adjusted to what I liked. They shipped right to the door, no hassles. Bit trickier than say a Timney to install, but once it was set it worked great. I'd go Timney next time, but the RB is good.

A Rifle Basix will give you a nice crisp trigger, but you can also try adjusting the factory one yourself first.

Cheapest is to adjust as above, and you can make a lighter spring from wire available at model airplane shops. I did that for one pre-accutrigger savage, and I was happy with the results. But for another rifle that I wanted even better, I used a Sharp Shooter Supply trigger, which can produce superior results, easier.

I believe you can swap the Stevens trigger for a Savage 3 screw trigger that will allow sear adjustments. Sometimes these are available from someone who went with an aftermarket trigger.

I'd also endorse the Sharp Shooter supply trigger, I put one on my .243 Stevens and it is a sweet trigger. :)

Easy to adjust, crisp and clean break ....... $97 buck US though ....
